Library Book Haul February 2017

Hello Bookworms!

I hope you are having a wonderful day!

librarybookhaulfeb

YES!!! I finally went to the library for the first time in 2017. I have not been since November and I have had library withdraws!

You know the high you get when you buy a book? I also get that high when I get one or ten books from the library. It feels so good to get something new to read.

I absolutely love going to the library. It saves me from spending money on a book that I may not have liked. If I do love a book I’ve read from the library I end up buying it because it had that much of an impact on me.

As you can see from my photo, I could not control myself this time on getting books. I usually get three to five books. This time I got TEN!!! This is a library book haul record for me. The big question is, can I read all of these books before they have to be returned. Thankfully half of these books, I can renew up to nine weeks. The other half I can only borrow for three weeks. That is because they are the newest releases. Which means they need to be read first no matter how much I want to read the ones I can hold onto longer.

Down below, I am going to put up a synopsis for all of these books. If you have read the books already, GREAT! If not, I highly suggest you go to your local library to check them out!

I apologize in advance on how long this post.

The Forgetting by Sharon Cameron

the-forgetting What isn’t written, isn’t remembered. Even your crimes.

Nadia lives in the city of Canaan, where life is safe and structured, hemmed in by white stone walls and no memory of what came before. But every twelve years the city descends into the bloody chaos of the Forgetting, a day of no remorse, when each person’s memories – of parents, children, love, life, and self – are lost. Unless they have been written.

In Canaan, your book is your truth and your identity, and Nadia knows exactly who hasn’t written the truth. Because Nadia is the only person in Canaan who has never forgotten.

But when Nadia begins to use her memories to solve the mysteries of Canaan, she discovers truths about herself and Gray, the handsome glassblower, that will change her world forever. As the anarchy of the Forgetting approaches, Nadia and Gray must stop an unseen enemy that threatens both their city and their own existence – before the people can forget the truth. And before Gray can forget her.

My Review

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake

23207027 Every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.

But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown.

If only it was that simple. Katharine is unable to tolerate the weakest poison, and Arsinoe, no matter how hard she tries, can’t make even a weed grow. The two queens have been shamefully faking their powers, taking care to keep each other, the island, and their powerful sister Mirabella none the wiser. But with alliances being formed, betrayals taking shape, and ruthless revenge haunting the queens’ every move, one thing is certain: the last queen standing might not be the strongest…but she may be the darkest.
